This film was co-written & directed by David Gordon Green, is the 6th film in “The Exorcist” franchise and serves as a direct sequel to the 1973 original film. The film stars Leslie Odom Jr., Ann Dowd, Jennifer Nettles & Norbert Leo Butz. Ellen Burstyn reprises her role from the first film. The story follows 2 young girls who mysteriously disappeared for 3 days and then found. As the days go on, their behavior becomes more difficult to the point where they are committed to psychiatric treatment. There, the families are made aware of that a dark entity maybe looming over the girls. Now, they must figure how to save their lives before it’s too late. This film marks the beginning of new trilogy that will be written and directed by Green. A sequel has already been announced and is slated to hit theaters on April 18, 2025.
