This is the sequel to the 2018 original film and the 8th overall film in “The Conjuring” Universe. The film sees Michael Chavez return as director. He previously directed 2021’s “The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It” & 2019’s “The Curse of La Llrona”, but of which are also in this cinematic universe. Taissa Fermiga & Bonnie Aarons but return to their titular roles and are joined by Storm Reid & Anna Popplewell. This film takes place some time after the previous film but now in Italy. Sister Irene is dispatched to a boarding school where a number death in Europe have occur. The locals suspect an evil spirit has taken the over the area but Irene says otherwise. With aid from the Vatican, Irene must find out who or what is behind this mysterious killing which leads her down a familiar path against an old nemesis. This film was originally slated for a 2022 release but reshoot and COVID restrictions delayed the film until further notice. It finally hit theaters on September 8th 2023.
