Who do you find yourself showing partiality toward? It is attractive and seductive to gravitate towards those with wealth and influence. Often because we sense doing so could somehow make our own lot better. James says this is an issue of deep discrepancy with the gospel of Jesus Christ. When we favor the wealthy and, by default, slight the disadvantaged we put ourselves at odds with our faith.
