Jesus appears to Daniel to encourage and strengthen him telling him of the Spiritual battle that rages behind the scenes of the world powers. The future (for Daniel and Israel) is wrought with wars and persecution, but Daniel and Israel are to be encouraged, this vision gives a future hope in the form of resurrection.
