Wisconsin is already politically known as a "Purple" state, where often political feelings are mixed and election season always brings upheaval.
The same can be said for Wisconsin when Making a Murderer premiered in 2015, splitting the state in half to determine if Steven Avery was wrongly incarcerated for the murder of Theresa Halbach. The Netflix series would captivate the world as millions would weigh in on their opinions of the documentary -- spawning petitions, and asking for Presidential Pardons for Avery and his nephew Brendan Dassey.
