The early stories of Jesus' birth are not something to skip over because you've heard it before. They are also not something one should only read of hear read during the annual celebration of Jesus' birth. They are treasured account of a child like no other child has ever had.
Luke chapter two may read like the prologue to the story you are really waiting for, God's grace and mercy for all humanity through Jesus' death and resurrection. But God's Grace and Mercy are evident, even in these stories.
