Karen Blumenthal successfully navigated a 36 year career in public school education. She holds a Masters Degree in Physical Education and Health, a Diploma in School District Administration, and a Certification in Applied Positive Psychology.Throughout the course of her career she has always been focused on helping students to thrive and flourish. She has studied with Cory Muscara, Dr. Joe Dispenza, and Tara Brach . Karen has always had a huge interest in well being and life’s transitions. In November of 2017, 5 months into retirement, she ventured into Death Valley California and in the Native American tradition she completed a 10 day Vision Quest. She sat two 10 day Vipassana Courses in the SN Goenka tradition. She has completed all course work for certification in KORU so that she can continue her work to enhance the wellbeing of emerging adults. She is one of the teachers at the Long Island Center for Mindfulness, teaches monthly walking through nature meditation classes, runs KORU classes every few months, and speaks to colleges and public schools on mindfulness.
