In honour of National Hoarding Awareness week in the United Kingdom, today I have the fabulous person That Hoarder joining us to share her journey with compulsive hoarding and how her healing journey is going. She started her own podcast to share her story and help motivate herself. It now reaches many people from all over that express how grateful they are to know they are not alone and there is no shame in having mental illness or difficulties.
Hoarding is one of the conditions that neurotypical people like to believe is one that simply requires tough love to solve the problem. We talk about how tough love and cleaning your loved ones' home or throwing away "garbage" without their consent will only do more harm than good.
