At a time when political rhetoric has deepened divisions and the COVID-19 pandemic has renewed anti-immigrant sentiment, a national nonprofit called “Welcoming America” is urging us to be more inclusive in our own communities – to come together for greater understanding and mutual support.
Welcoming America will lead the annual celebration of “Welcoming Week” events on Sept. 12-20, with the theme, "Creating Home Together.”
Todays “Two Bald Guys” welcomes Molly Hilligoss, Midwest regional manager, Welcoming America, who will address how communities, from a local perspective, can make concrete changes to reduce the barriers that immigrants face in fully participating; and how we all can take actions to build bridges between newcomers and long-time residents.
