On the 15th Sunday after Pentecost and the second Sunday of Luke (Luke 6:31-36) in which we hear Jesus tell us to love our enemies, Fr. Matthew Howell draws from St. Nikolai Velimerovich to explain how we need to elevate our love beyond the passive state into an active virtue, going out of the way to express our love for our neighbor. Along the way, he gives an example of what this looks like with a vignette from Victor Hugo's Les Misérables.
