2 Chronicles 7:14
if my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Word of God says, those who are called by His name must first humble themselves...
"Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it's thinking of yourself less." - Rick Warren.
"It was pride that changed angels to devil's; its humility that makes men as angels." St. Augustine.
"Humility brings sweetness in words and softness in behaviour."
A humble person can be easily identified from a big group. Their walk and talk and conversation will be graceful esteeming those who are listening higher than them though they are of much higher value than the group.
When we preach, we need humility, when we worship we need humility. A humble person is always calm, confident, cheerful and joyful because they do not carry any other loads of offence, grudge, pride and hate.
The thing of humility in this world is grossly misunderstood. Its the rarest of all gifts and hardest of ALL lessons. We have gotten to a place where we feel that humility is a sign of weakness. It's not a weak and timid quality at all. It's clear show of strength and maturity.
When we preach with humility, lives are transformed, the audience sees the little Christ in the speaker. And it's all tears of joy and change of hearts. Because the preacher exalts the name of Christ and humbles himself or herself.
God is still looking for such individuals who has this virtue of humility.
Show me a person without humility having great spiritual strength and security? There is NONE. Only in humility we find great spiritual strength and spiritual security. One who is spiritually secure can afford to be humble.
Help us to understand that humility is not the weakest link but the most secured one which gives access to your power and holiness. Help us ....
