He Said, He Said, He Said LIVE is back once again onFriday, April 18th with a brand-new episode of our exciting series, “April for Art!” Every Friday in April, we’ll feature and showcase another incredibly talented artist from around the world, bringing you an up-close look at their work, their inspirations, and their creative journeys.
Lawrence Perry is a self-taught painter whose artisticjourney began in August 2014, when he finally gave himself permission to explore a long-dormant gift and passion. Without any formal training, he tapped into a powerful creative force that quickly manifested in an outpouring ofwork—over 100 pieces within his first year alone.
Lawrence’s art spans a range of styles and subjects, from abstract compositions to nature-inspired works and spiritual drawings. He describes his process as intuitive and open, with inspiration flowing from a place he cannot always articulate—other than through a deep sense of opennessand connection.
Since embarking on this path, Lawrence has createdmore than 200 works. In January 2015, he held his first solo exhibition, The Journey, featuring 89 pieces at York and Taylor in Washington, D.C. This milestone marked the beginning of what continues to be a prolific and evolvingexploration of creativity and self-expression.
