Why do we wait for a new year, 365 days to create “Resolutions?”
We put so much hype on creating these “Yearly” goals and wait so long that we build them up, they are grandiose and too elaborate.
What is a resolution Resolution?
A “firm Decision” To Do or Not To Do something??????
Why do I fail at completing goals?
Common reasons people fail on their goals:
This is the one I hear the most often- They LACK SPECIFICITY - Unclear goals create unclear results. Write it down as specific as possible. Make it measurable
They set too high of a goal (unrealistic). (for example; I will have One million dollars by next month) Is this even possible?
Sense of being overwhelmed? You start to doubt your abilities.
Not super clear on their goal or objective - Lack of clarity gives you no target or a broad “area” to hit.
What to do?
Become ULTRA clear on what you want to accomplish but back it with a WHY!
Become aware of the STEPS you NEED to take in order to reach your goal. Your goal is the sum of all the actions taken in regard to THAT goal.
Power of Writing down a goal:
Dr. Gail Matthews, a psychology professor at the Dominican University in California, recently studied the art and science of goal setting.
She brought together almost three hundred men and women of all walks of life, had half the group write their goals and the other did not.
She found that you become 42% more likely to achieve your goals and dreams, simply by writing them down on a regular basis
What actually happens here?
The Imaginative side of your brain (Right Side) speaks to the literal side of your brain (Left side) While they are speaking they are sending signals throughout your body on every sensory level transforming thought into reality. Trippy!
By writing down your goals it gives you a chance to be ultra clear.
