*Trigger warning - Premature Delivery*

This episode is on a topic that is often shied away from when speaking about fertility, because it can be so triggering. However, premature delivery is an important topic that cannot be overlooked when speaking about the fertility spectrum.

In honour of World Prematurity Day happening this week on November 17, Emily invited Becca Mintz, her close friend and cousin, onto the show to share her story of needing an emergency c-section at 27 weeks pregnant and the subsequent 78 day‌ NICU stay for her son. They discuss the parallels between the emotions and trauma experienced while going through infertility and premature birth, including the feeling of being blindsided when things do not go as expected.

Becca is currently the Vice President of Customer Acquisitions at Capital One Canada and a member of the Council for Women's Advocacy with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, a group that is passionate about affordable childcare, supporting female entrepreneurs and more. She also sits on the Parents Advisory Council for the St. Michael's Hospital NICU. In 2017, she was named one of Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women.
