Description

The OneSun3flowers Podcast is a digital space for women to share different notable experiences in their journey as a means of releasing uplifting, and unifying other women. We also want to leave behind words & stories that be utilized by generations to follow. The weekly conversation is led by author, poet, mother and educator, Courtney N. Brookins from the Chicagoland area where she discusses all things related to women's empowerment, self-love and self-care. Her focus is about helping women "Bloom into their Best Selves"

This session was inspired by the criticisms and demeaning of women's stories that have been circulating around the media. Even in a time of widespread ideas and evolutionary thinking, women are still working to accept their voices, their stories and to fight to be heard. The host dives into the implications about silencing women and criticizing their story sharing. She also advocates for the voices of women of color who are often minimized, devalued and stereotyped through a longstanding historical context. In short, she advocates for women to find their voice, share their story and own their truth.
