Carlos is a young artist who moved to Grand Rapids from Detroit with his family at age ten. Carlos got into art at a young age. He honed his craft by completing his brother's unfinished artwork and pieces that ended up in the trash. What started out as a cartoon approach, evolved into realism--his favorite style. People started commissioning Carlos for artwork in high school. He explains that much of his early commissions were paintings on students shoes or sports cleats; which turned out to be the best form of word of mouth.
