Join your host Garhdo as they take you on a guided journey of DC Comics and its history, and how its classic Crisis on Infinite Earths led to the Dark Age of Comics, birthing a culture of cynicism despite the hopeful nature of its colourful heroes, and the attempts by many writers, especially Geoff Johns, to bring hope back to the DC Universe, regardless of whether it was really absent or not.

DC Comics is something I've always tried to love, but have often struggled with. While I love many of their characters, to the point that I think many of them are the best in the genre, but I struggle with the attitude the company seems to take to it's characters and storytelling, to the point I often feel like DC has an identity crisis between it's heroes being hopeful and cynical, and that is what I wanted to explore here.
It's interesting as well because this has continued even to this day, and is even extending to their films, to the point that everything is feeling like lore to keep up with rather than engaging stories a lot of the time. I hope it improves soon with the new management, as otherwise it's a waste of great characters.
