Today, I read the first poem I read aloud "with intent" in my undergrad, a poem introduced to me on my first day of a poetry workshop. It is "Happiness" by Robert Hass. I sometimes struggle now with Hass' work and the poetic movement in which he is situated, but poems like this bring that certain joy that only "happiness" poems can pull off when not too cliche'd.
