In the outrageous book Brain Droppings, comedian George Carlin observed, “Most people work just hard enough not to get fired and get paid just enough money not to quit!” According to Carlin “most people” know nothing about the honor of work.
The late General Colin Powell once said, “All work is honorable, so always do your best. Someone is watching.” How true.
The apostle Paul claimed, “…these hands ministered to my own needs and to the men who were with me. In everything I showed you that by working hard in this manner you must help the weak,” (Acts 20.34-35).
