- Reading - Psalm 1 (Good News version)
- Short talk: ‘Well-watered trees’
- If only life were as simple as the Psalm suggests
- We know there are great contrasts between good and evil
- We are a bit of a mixture, sometimes selfish, sometimes calm and compassionate
- Psalms often paint things in stark contrast and we have to be careful not to be too arrogant
- We have to try to be the well watered trees with long roots pulling up the nutrients
- Think of a tree you are familiar with - near here, in your garden, in a nearby park
- What if it is suddenly cut down? How would you feel?
- We want to be a well watered tree - for us the water is the spirit of God.
- Enabling us to fruit with the gifts of the spirit - love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self control.
