Hartford resident, Michael Oretade is a writer, entrepreneur, teacher, activist, and state senate candidate for the 2022 election in District 1 of Connecticut. He's run a small comic book company and ran an independent record label for several years. For the last 2 years, he has been protesting systemic racism and advocating for change in the state of Connecticut. His decision to run for Senate is to embolden his advocacy work further and finally give the community an identifying voice. Moreover, it is only the first step toward his much bigger goal; to be the President of the United States of America.
