For today’s episode I am joined by Tom Rogers, whose visual impairment is a result of the condition which he was born with, blue cone monochromacy. This has given him a form of colour blindness and a level of photophobia, however he has never felt the need to use Braille or use a mobility aid. Conversation includes his time at mainstream school, what led to him going to the Royal National College for the Blind in Hereford and his love of football. We chat about his discovery of VI football, his venture into goalball, which includes some time with team Great Britain and his journey into employment. There is also discussions about playing video games when you are visually impaired, so give this one a listen and learn something new, such as what is a liquid level indicator.
Thank you to Erin Boyce, Ieuan Sparey, Tim Giebel, Mariel, Laili and Georgia-may Felton.
