Description

We return to Friday Eyeday, as I’m joined by Marcus, who was born with his sight impairment, as well as a level of cerebral palsy which affects his right-hand side. He chats about how these have affected his life, such as being deemed to have good sight by the blind community, but not by the abled one and the need to learn to do things one-handed. Other topics include his move to South Carolina, USA after being in Cardiff, Wales and Winchester, England, moving back to the UK for a few years before returning to the states on his own. We discuss his journey into employment there and the pros and cons of living in America, including how attitudes towards disability vary if at all from here in Britain. Conversation also turns to the upcoming arrival of his child with his partner Megan from episodes 30 & 36. Give this one a listen with your eyes.
