Christian works with pen and ink and is inspired by prints and lithographs. He discusses his journey of addressing labels and the term "artist."

“I think that [being an artist] is just someone living artfully. You talked about earlier, expressing yourself through the way you arrange your space, how you wear your clothing…. Yeah, this is something that I’ve been thinking about a lot lately. Can someone be an artist by being the audience? Cause that’s what I’m doing when I want to go do a landscape drawing, I have to go be an audience to a landscape, I mean, that’s the art. Because, I mean, my thing is taking that and putting it through the coffee filter of my consciousness trying to put it onto a piece of paper and trying desperately to be like, ‘please understand that these marks of ink are a tree.’ So I think on that level everyone is being an artist by being an audience to their own life. If they’re being present with their experience, everyone is being an artist all the time. I guess, living artfully is just living consciously. Knowing how you feel and reacting honestly. The world is a stage and we’re all characters and we’re all participating and we don’t have an option really. Either you wake up and are making art, or you wake up and pretending that you’re not…but you are.”
