When you’re training for a marathon, you don’t just listen to podcasts on how to train – you show up to do the work to strengthen your body, and build the muscles you need to run the race.
When we’re trying to be better leaders, to make positive change in our behaviour, we often fall back on passive activities like listening to podcasts or reading leadership books. And hey, we’re certainly not telling you NOT to do these things. They do help.
But we need to actually do the work as well. We may hire a personal trainer to improve our body. Why not invest in coaching / training for the mind and spirit? To train and build our mental muscles?
