Description

Most of us have participated in work training of some sort. Learning new software, attending conferences, learning new processes. This is generally considered “professional development,” and most companies invest money in keeping employee skills up to snuff.

Personal development is working on yourself. And while we may prioritize professional development to get ahead at work, or please our bosses, we often set personal development aside because we don’t have time, or we’re too busy.

I have focused a lot on personal development, and I’ll tell you one thing I’m completely sure about: I have gained more from my investment in personal development than in any skills training. It has helped me get unstuck and move forward, uncover my blind spots, learn to work in a new way, and become a better leader.

Retraining your brain IS possible, and you will find the effort brings you more ease and harmony in your work.
