Welcome to another episode of Sabine's Common Sense! Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe!
So this week let's talk protecting your creative! If you're an artist, fashion designer, or just someone who likes to be creative in their free time, it's important to know your rights, things to avoid, and how to protect your creative piece. Don't end up like Zoe Johnson (Grown-ish fans will know what I'm talking about) and make sure you protect your original works!
I'm also excited to introduce the man behind the camera of every episode, my audio producer and client, Josh Wilcox! Starting off as a DJ in high school, Josh has always had a passion for music, so it's no surprise that he decided to pursue an education in audio engineering. After graduating, he has since worked with Jim Jones, licensed songs for tv shows, and was even selected as the winner (out of 50 applicants!) to produce for the show "The Human Experience", with which he stayed on for two years. After a conversation with his wife (then girlfriend) and an epiphany, Josh decided to transition to podcast engineering and opened up his own studio in NY, Brooklyn Podcasting Studio (where all of my episodes are created)! Josh lets us in on the truth to licensing and what you should consider when you are the creator or host of a podcast. He also shares why you should stay true to your passion, move strategically and have multiples streams of income, and that you learn more from your losses than your wins!
