As you may have noticed, I changed the name of the show to "Ambitious Legacy". I wanted a name that would reflect what I'm passionate about, the content I bring to you guys, and my purpose- which is to share with you what it means to have an AMBITOUS LEGACY! Because regardless of where you are on your journey, you WILL be leaving behind a legacy, which may look different for everyone based on assets, values. and the people who mean the most to you!
This show has been such an amazing experience for me, and it's helped me to realize that I am fulfilling MY ambitious legacy! Tonight I had the pleasure of sitting down with Rashidah Siddiqui, a dope real estate attorney, who is a Partner at Serpico, Serpico & Siddiqui, P.C. Originally from Grenada, Rashidah has always wanted to be an attorney, but while attending undergrad at Howard University and having been inspired by shows like "A Different World", she decided she wanted to pursue film production. It wasn't until she took a course in legal communications, that she reconsidered her dream of practicing law, and thought about becoming an entertainment lawyer. After graduating law school in the middle of a recession and looking for positions as an entertainment lawyer, she realized it wasn't the path for her, and eventually ended up as a real estate attorney. She now has over a decade of experience in her field and couldn't be happier!
Rashidah shares how she came to realize her true purpose, not as an entertainment lawyer- but a real estate attorney, how she landed a job at her current firm by being true to herself and her goals, and how you can live out your ambitious legacy as long as you know your passions, continue to pursue your purpose, and seek mentorship from different individuals from all walks of life. She also shares why you NEED a real estate attorney, what traps to to avoid if you're practicing real estate law, and how she finds balance between what she loves to do as a career, and what she loves to do in life.
