In this episode I met with my friend and mentor, Jonel Vilches.
Jonel is the Victims of Crime Act educator at Rutgers VPVA - New Brunswick and a wealth of knowledge. He is an advocate, mentor, and just such a wonderful person and I am so honored to have worked with him and continue to be mentored by him.
We got a chance to sit down and talk about male survivorship, the stigma around it, how to support your friends and debunk the myths. Men have been falsely told that they must suffer in silence when it comes to interpersonal violence and we have to break that silence.
Our conversation inspired me and made me feel very hopeful that even though things are bad its the work and dedication to the cause that will help us create a better, safer culture.
