Description

In this episode, my dear friend, Alyssa Miller joined me to talk about her choice to remain abstinent and the role that her religion played in that decision. She shared her faith practice and how her faith guides her life in many ways.

We got to talk about the importance of choice and how this was hers.

Alyssa and I worked together at VPVA as advocates for interpersonal violence. Alyssa works now as a One on One Aid for special needs students.

Alyssa is an amazing woman of faith. Whatever you believe, we can all agree that seeing people who have faith and are devout in their faith is truly beautiful. I deeply respect and admire Alyssa for always being so outspoken about her beliefs and the way she chooses to live her life. There are so many people who are remaining abstinent because of their relationship with God/Allah/a higher power or because of their cultural beliefs and I think its amazing.

In this world, where I want us to be so sex positive and I want people to be able to be open about having sex, I want people to feel equally as empowered to choose NOT to have sex.
