Description

Welcome back to Purpose Pivots! I am pleased to introduce, A.K. Kuruvilla, Pastor for Discipleship & Administration and one of my very first managers in my professional career. A man of faith, A.K. pivoted into purpose from a corporate career.  He gained a Ph.D. in Materials Engineering and worked in the corporate world for over 20 years.

He transitioned into vocational pastoral ministry 4 years ago and is currently serving at Bayou City Fellowship in Houston, TX. This process of transition involved exploration, preparation (M.Div from the Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary) and waiting to sense God’s timing.  He thoroughly enjoys what he does, finding fulfillment and joy in his work. He encourages people to live lives with purpose, exercising their God-given gifts to be a blessing to others.

He shares with us that a career shift does not necessarily mean leaving from where you are right now. “Anything can be a sacred calling as long it is blessing other people and you enjoy it.” – A.K.

Tweetable Quotes:

“If I have [a] purpose, then obviously that is an assumption that I was designed or created for that purpose. If that is true, then the designer’s intent becomes very important.” - A.K. Kuruvilla

“You could be an engineer and still consider that a sacred calling if that is what you enjoy and that is blessing people.” - A.K. Kuruvilla
