This month, we are honoured to collaborate with 3 special guest speakers, to discuss the topics as below:
1. When and how to start teaching children about safe touch.
2. Safety - who and where are the predators.
3. Safe sex and healthy relationships
Ophelia Domingo: @odomingoo Ophelia Domingo was born and raised in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. She is an audiologist by profession, who runs her own hearing care centre called Ophelia Hearing Specialist. She created What's Up, Sabah on Clubhouse to provide a platform for fellow Sabahans to use their voices to express their thoughts and speak up. Ophelia is a sex education trainer for children and teens under an NGO called Soroptimist International Kota Kinabalu.
Zulkarnain: @alexander_zulkarnain86 Zulkarnain is a teacher by profession and is now attached with Kota Kinabalu Industrial Training Institute. When he is not working at the office, he spends his time at the gym, as a kickboxing instructor and a trigger points massage therapist. Educating and helping others to find their voice in this world is his passion, the reason he is a member of Labuan Toastmasters Club and Kota Kinabalu Agora Speakers Club. Previously an active member of Sabah Youth Club under the Sabah Family Planning Association, he believes that reproductive and health education should be taught to all adolescents so that they would have the knowledge that would help them to make decisions for their future.
Liyana Taff: @liyanataff Liyana is the Special Projects Director of makchic, a website for parents looking for trustworthy and authentic family-related content. She is also the co-Author of ‘What if?’ a children’s picture book on personal safety and body boundaries.
