Athletes are in way more activities now than ever before. Hence our job as coaches now becomes understanding how these affect their training.
No more noticeable than change of direction work. We have started changing how we view and utilize COD in our sessions. There is no reason why COD should be different than linear speed development.
We use a lot of 1-2 step movements and force absorbing movements. Then add 2-4 max effort attempts.
You have to evolve as a coach as athletics evolve if you want to get results.
