Description

There was a huge launch recently by a big-name marketer, well, at least he was a big name in the past. The idea is basically, do a big launch, create fake scarcity by saying you are going to shut down sales of the product for the rest of the year.

Fake scarcity, extreme hype, barrage of emails, unethical offers - this type of overaggressive, overly-hyped, sleazy marketing probably worked in the early 2000's. But it just won't fly today.
