My guest this episode is Danielle Villafaña, a year 12, Sydney-based activist with an interest in speaking up and supporting youth survivors of sexual violence, the ongoing conversation around consent and sex education, climate change as well as many other important issues affecting young people’s lives. Her activism within youth organisations and committees that advocate for such issues started when she was only 14 and she’s continued to do so, adopting several leadership roles in the process and rallying hundreds and thousands of young people in the process. This episode, Danielle and I will be talking all about advocacy, the need for proper consent education and a changing culture surrounding sex and sexual violence, how other young people can get involved in advocacy and how she’s balancing schooling life alongside activism.
