Malachi has some tough questions for us. Who can endure the day of God’s messenger coming? It will be like a refining fire! This feels like a jarring question considering the Second Sunday of Advent is supposed to be about peace. What does a refining fire have to do with peace on earth and goodwill toward humankind?
