The Justice for Gerard Movement presents......

"Turning A Moment Into A Movement"

Friday April 19, 2024 8:30 PM EST

TOPIC: "Black Women and Inequality in Healthcare"

Black Women faced a “systemic and historical pattern” of racial abuse in the health sector worldwide. Mistreatment ranged from verbal and physical abuse to denial of quality care and refusal of pain relief. As a result, Black women experienced increased complications during pregnancy and delayed interventions, leading to preventable deaths during childbirth. There’s an urgent need for systemic change to ensure equitable and respectful healthcare for all individuals, regardless of their racial or ethnic background. So, it’s essential that we continue to raise awareness and advocate for reforms to address these disparities.
