Lots of snow, lots of chaos and then complaints. Obviously we all realized pain in the muscles we didn’t know we had by shovelling all that snow.
I was moved by my neighbour in the front street who singlehandedly took charge to clear the path to on the street for the ambulances n fire truck to pass in an emergency.
It was still the morning, she n her husband both work in healthcare so she must’ve thought about it. The entire circle was blocked from both sides with no path for any vehicles to get in. After I cleaned my driveway, I thought to give her a hand. She had already finished some n we agreed it was enough for a vehicle to pass. (She might’ve let me go as I mentioned I was in the middle of calls at work. I shouldn’t have).
Later in the afternoon an army of people with cordless snow blowers took the entire street and they cleaned it all without having to wait for the official ploughs. One of our neighbour even helped us clean our driveway since it was piled up again.
And just this afternoon while I was sitting in my home office, I noticed my neighbour with his son as they shovelled my driveway. The snowplough had dumped another round of snow, I didn’t bother to clean as I wasn’t going out today.
I feel so fortunate to be living in the community that cares about one another. Just sending out some positive vibes to everyone. Please be kind to the people who are rigorously working for our comfort.
