In this week's episode, we were joined by professional triathlete, Ollie Turner.
Ollie grew up on the island of Jersey in the Channel Islands and took up triathlon after family friends started going along. After quickly falling in love with the sport, Ollie became more competitive and started working his way up and through the British system.
For the last 3 years Ollie has been based at the National Performance Centre for Triathlon in Cardiff whilst he was studying for his degree in Sport and Exercise Science, which he has just completed. In addition to training himself, Ollie also coaches for ENTIRE Performance Coaching, a company set up by his training partners at the Performance Centre (find more details below).
Ollie's career highlights include representing Jersey at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast, racing the ITU World Cup series and finishing 17th overall in SuperLeague 2018.
Tune in to today's episode to hear all about living on small islands, how Ollie moved from Jersey to Australia, moved up through the system to where he is today, group training environments and how to balance studying and training.
