With the dawn of a new year, I asked myself what attitudes would I like to have governing my outlook on life at all times throughout this year? For whatever it may be worth, here they are:
Attitude #1 —“My life, though precious to Jesus, is a catastrophe that only he can set right — past, present, and future — so I trust him, and refuse to let my heart be troubled by anything I’ve been or done.”
Attitude #2 — “I cannot be patient, kind, gentle, and helpful enough, for I live among people — family, friends, neighbors — who are exceedingly valuable to God.”
Attitude #3 — “God so richly and completely keeps forgiving me of all my innumerable offenses against him, that I could never get enough of forgiving anyone and everyone of any and all offenses against me.”
Attitude #4 — “God’s Word anchors my life in Jesus so everyday I want to grow in having a deeper, constant, trembling respect for everything it says.”
Attitude #5 — “God has promised to guide me and meet my needs each day of my life so I am free to rest in his Spirit’s timely counsel, help, and strength.”
Attitude #6 — “Jesus has utterly defeated satan and destroyed his works so, in Jesus’ name, mine is the responsibility and privilege of enforcing that victory in all I do and in all that concerns me.”
Attitude #7 — “God is always going to respond to my prayers by doing far more than all I could ask or imagine so the honor is mine to pray, pray, pray, with great confidence and joyful anticipation.”
