Description

I was recently informed of was has been dubbed an artificial intelligence Jesus, or AI Jesus for short. The news heading read, “AI Jesus talks dating, relationships, morals — even offers video-gaming tips.” The article goes on to say that “"AI Jesus" says, "It’s essential to focus on faith, love and kindness, as these are the core teachings of Christianity.”

Well, whoever programmed the AI Jesus to serve up the core teachings of Christianity as “faith, love, and kindness” is badly mistaken right out of the gate. The core teaching of Christianity is the person of Jesus Himself — his life, his teachings, his death, his resurrection, his second coming, and his everlasting kingdom. Next to that is the truth that everyone lives or perishes based on whether or not they respond to his voice.

Jesus said in John 5:25: “I tell you the solemn truth, a time is coming – and is now here – when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.”

And his voice is far nearer and way more personal to each of us than any AI Jesus could ever be. And though we are inwardly, spiritually dead, God gave Jesus authority over each of us, and in his love for us Jesus cuts through our deafness with just enough awareness of his call that we can begin to listen to his voice at any time if we so choose.

How will we know when it is his voice addressing us? That comes down to the extent of our willingness to do whatever he tells us to do. Whoever truly wills to do what God wants will know that voice as to whether it is Jesus or not.
