Here’s another way to define what faith is. Faith is looking to Jesus confident that he will make a difference regarding the concern or need on our hearts.
So to pray in faith is to pray assured that the prayer will be heard and answered. It is to be able to say, yes, I know he will do this for me.
How do we come to have such an assurance, such faith?
1 John 5:14-15 — “This is the confidence we have before him: If we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have what we have asked of him.”
There it is. The key to praying with perfect confidence that our prayer is heard and will be answered is to take time to find out what God's will is, what God has already promised to do, or what God is showing you he wants to do in a given situation.
When we pray along those lines, we will be heard, and our request will be answered.
