The very nature of God, being love, that is — as I see it — pure helpfulness, means that every moment of the day he is helping us and wants to increasingly help us be all that he created us to be. This process will go on forever because even though we will be sinless on the new earth, we will still be revealing to one another facets of God’s goodness that are unique to our friendship with him.
Along the way here on earth, he alone counsels each of us regarding where we need the most help to walk in his friendship. While the Scriptures give us the framework, that is, what it is he is going to teach us, it is the Holy Spirit who applies that Word to our lives. He receives all he gives from Jesus and shows us all we need to know to grow in friendship with Jesus. And the more of that help we receive, the more we have to give.
