We do well to encourage ourselves and others to always remain devoted to the Lord. But have you ever considered how the Lord is completely devoted to you? that he wholeheartedly and in every way possible constantly pursues the very highest and best for you? That is at the very heart of what it means that God loves you.
Just as it is inconceivable that that you should love someone and not simultaneously seek out the best for them, so with God. But whereas we have only a limited idea of what is best for someone we love, God has no such limitation. The highest and best God has in mind is, indeed, the highest and best.
So here’s the challenge: put yourself in his hands, put your future in his hands, put all that matters to you in his hands, and then trust in him with all your heart that what he does in you and for you can and will never be able to be improved on. When it all comes around, you will be able to truthfully and confidently say at every moment, “It doesn’t get any better than this.”
