In 1 John 4:7 we read, “Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.”
God is at the center of our lives insofar as we are talking with him about what matters most to us and participating in what he is doing to help the next person we think of, see, or meet.
That strikes me as to what it means to love Him, glorify Him, or honor Him. When He is not at the center — that is, when we are not communicating openly with him and co-working with Him, He takes action. He will discipline us as severely as needed and by all possible means as he seeks to get us on track or back on track.
God is love and the effect our lives has on others is incalculably important to Him. He overlooks no trifling behavior in this matter.
