I have a question for you to consider. For that matter, I would encourage you to write it down and take time to pencil out your answer. Here it is: If God said to you today that — in regard to the person you aspire to be — you could make one request with the assurance that — whatever it is — he would grant it to you before you die, what would you ask for?
After you have an answer, then ask yourself: how desperately do I want God to answer my request? Am I prepared to reorganize my daily life around what it may mean for me to become the person I want God to make me?
Something as precious as what you will ask for isn’t just going to fall out of the sky and — bingo — there you have it. If you actually do want to be that person then ask Jesus to help you reorient your daily life so as to make the probability that you will become that person as certain as possible. God will then work in you and with you to do immeasurably more than all you could ask or imagine.
