The Apostle Paul wrote, in effect, that no matter what I may do with my life that appears exceptional, if I do not have love, I am nothing. (1 Corinthians 13:2) He allows for no exceptions. No one is or has ever been exempt from that truth. It reveals that the ultimate spiritual and moral authority in the universe is Love, that is, self-sacrificial helpfulness. Where there is no love there is no spiritual or moral authority – there is nothing.
