In Ephesians 5:15-16 we read, “Be very careful, … how you live — not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.”
Consider the following regarding the widespread influence each of us has in this world: it has been observed that,
- Each of us will have some degree of meaningful contact with 1,000 people throughout our lifetime.
- That 1,000 people will each, in turn, have meaningful contact of their own with a 1,000 people, so now we’re up to a million.
- That million will then each have meaningful contact of their own with another thousand, and we are at a billion.
- That puts each of us just two groupings of people removed from influencing a billion people.
- And we dare think that our prayers, words, and actions, don’t amount to much?
Let’s hear it again: “Be very careful, … how you live — not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.”
