I’m convinced that the deepest hunger in our hearts is one and the same with the highest purposes of God for us. I say that because, in reference to Christ, the Apostle Paul writes that we were created “through him and for him.” That being true, is it even conceivable that Jesus would create us with a desire that’s greater or deeper than a desire to be all that he would have us be and do? I don’t think so. Consequently, here’s the overarching joy — the joy unspeakable — it is also God’s promise to us to completely satisfy that hunger. Philippians 1:6 — “he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
