Family likeness– Our Life-Changing Booster in Uncertain Times

I Introduction 

II. God calls us to keep in mind that we are made after God’s likeness when we become His sons and daughters. (4:20, 22) 

  1. We have experienced a new creation. (4:24) 
  2. We have received a new mind that is constantly being renewed. (4:23) 
  3. God’s will and purpose motivates us live out our Christlikeness

III. As believers made in the life-changing likeness of God, we are to live out our Christ-like identity by the renewing power of His Spirit (4:21-22) 

  1. Our old family ties are put off
  2. We are to put on a radical new lifestyle in its place
  3. C. We are entrusted with new family commitments and responsibilities
  4. God has given us everything we need to live out our Christ-like identity

IV. Conclusion

  1. As God's children, we should always keep in mind that we are new creations and that we are given a Spirit renewing mind. 
  2. We who are united to Christ need to remind ourselves continually that we have a new Christ-like identity.
  3. We can to live out this identity for God has given all things we need for this life.
  4. Family likeness is a booster in difficult times because it assures us in a real sense we are participants in Christ and receivers of His very life.
